Start with a short recording, wait for the finished transcript and review it before sharing. VoicePad processes speech on your device.
Tap the main mic orb, speak at your normal pace, then tap it again to stop. On Windows, you can also use the recording shortcut while VoicePad is running. Check the shortcut shown by your installed build.
Where supported, the floating Orb and voice commands provide other ways to control recording. Their setup differs by platform.
Text can appear as completed chunks are processed. After stopping, allow the final processing to finish. Do not assume an empty transcript during a short recording means the microphone failed.
If automatic copying is enabled, the finished text goes to the clipboard. Direct typing or automatic insertion can send text into another app; choose an editable target and check where the text landed.
Move the Orb to a convenient position. Android’s long-press action can open the full app. The iOS guide does not document an equivalent floating overlay.
To add to an earlier note, use Resume where your build provides it. To keep a new topic separate, start a new dictation.
