Resume lets you add to an earlier dictation instead of creating a separate entry. It is useful when a note is interrupted or you remember something later.
Continue an existing note
- Open History and find the entry you want to extend.
- On Windows, right-click the card and choose Resume. On mobile, long-press the card and choose Resume.
- Check that the correct entry is selected for resuming.
- Start dictation using the recording control in your app.
- Speak your additional text, then stop and wait for transcription.
- Review the combined entry in history.
What changes?
Your original text stays at the start of the note. The new text is appended after a timestamp separator, so you can see where the continuation begins.
Resume or start a new note?
- Resume: additional details for the same repair, draft, task or idea.
- New dictation: a different subject that you want to find and manage separately.
Cancel before recording
Use Exit Resume if your build shows it. Check the app has left resume mode before recording an unrelated note.
Resume adds more dictated text; use the editor when you want to correct or replace words already in the note.
