How do I export my dictation history?

Export your history to keep a separate copy of your notes, share them or move supported data to another device. Choose the format for what you want to do next.


Export on Windows

  1. Open Settings → Sessions → Export History, or the history export control offered by your build.
  2. Select the available format and destination.
  3. Open the saved file and check that the notes you need are present.

Export on Android or iOS

  1. Open the History sidebar.
  2. Choose Export All.
  3. Use the system file or sharing options to save a copy where you can find it again.

Reading versus restoring

  • TXT: useful for reading, searching and copying your notes into other tools.
  • JSON: use a compatible VoicePad history export when you plan to import entries on another device.

Available formats vary by platform and build. A text export is not automatically a restorable VoicePad backup.


Before clearing history

Save the export outside the app and verify it before deleting anything. If you need a restorable backup, check that the receiving app supports the chosen file format.


For everyday phone–computer transfers

Local WiFi sync is usually easier than exporting each time. Use manual export when you want an independent copy or cannot connect both devices to the same local network.
