How do I edit text and save a typed note?

On supported Pro builds, the transcript area also works as a text editor. You can correct a dictation, type a note, paste text or edit imported content before saving it.

Edit your text

  1. Finish dictation and wait for processing.
  2. Click or tap the text area and place the cursor where you want to change the wording.
  3. Correct names, punctuation or other mistakes. You can combine dictated and typed text.
  4. Read through the final note before saving or exporting.

Windows Free builds can allow viewing and copying while reserving typing, pasting and editing for Pro. Check your app’s access message if the editor is unavailable.

Save a note on desktop

  1. Put the text you want to keep in the transcript area.
  2. Choose Save Note in the footer where available.
  3. Open History and verify that the saved entry contains your text.

The desktop history uses a T badge for typed notes. A dictation normally has no typed-note badge; an M badge identifies an entry received from mobile.

Mobile controls

Mobile builds can show a Save control on the transcript card rather than a desktop footer button. Use the controls present in your installed app and confirm the entry in History.

Dictation, notes and AI output

  • Ordinary dictation: transcribes speech and stores the result in history.
  • Save Note: keeps the typed or edited text currently in the editor.
  • Save Improved Text: on documented Windows builds, saves an AI tool’s result as a separate history entry.

Saving a note does not make it a backup outside VoicePad. Export important work when you need a separate copy.
