VoicePad Orb won't appear on screen

The Orb is enabled but you can't see it. Three likely causes — easy fixes for each. **Cause 1: Orb is off-screen (Windows).** The Orb position is saved across restarts. If you accidentally dragged it off the visible screen — or changed monitor configurations since last use — it might be drawn at coordinates outside your current display. **Fix:** 1. Settings → Dictation → VoicePad Orb → toggle OFF 2. Toggle back ON 3. The Orb spawns at default center-screen position Or: drag any window to the screen edge to "find" the Orb — its draggable widget should be visible when you scan the borders. **Cause 2: "Display over other apps" permission missing (Android).** The floating bubble requires system overlay permission. Some phone manufacturers hide this by default. **Fix:** 1. Phone Settings → Apps → VoicePad 2. **Special permissions** → **Display over other apps** 3. Toggle ON 4. Restart VoicePad — bubble appears **Cause 3: Battery optimization killing the orb service (Android).** Aggressive battery savers (Xiaomi MIUI, Huawei EMUI, Samsung One UI on older versions) kill background services to save battery. The Orb service is a casualty. **Fix:** 1. Phone Settings → Battery → VoicePad 2. Set battery usage to **Unrestricted** or **Don't optimize** 3. On Xiaomi: also enable **Autostart** 4. Restart VoicePad **Quick verification — is the Orb feature actually enabled?** Sometimes users disable Orb without realizing. - Windows: Settings → Dictation → VoicePad Orb (toggle must be ON) - Android: Settings → VoicePad Orb (toggle must be ON) **If you have VoicePad Direct enabled but Orb disabled — that's broken state.** VoicePad Direct requires the Orb. Enable Orb, then enable Direct. For full Orb documentation, see [Help Center → VoicePad Orb](https://voicepad.tech/help/#voicepad-orb).
