How do I transfer Android notes to Windows over USB?

The Help Center documents a one-way USB transfer from Android to Windows. Use it when the two devices cannot share a local WiFi network.

Prepare the connection

  1. Connect your Android phone to the Windows PC using a cable that supports data transfer.
  2. Unlock the phone.
  3. Choose File Transfer (MTP) on the phone when Android asks how to use the USB connection.
  4. Open VoicePad on both devices.

Export from Android

  1. Open Settings → Sync in VoicePad Android.
  2. Choose USB Export if your build provides it.
  3. Wait for the export to complete.
  4. Note the file location shown by the app.

The older guide names Downloads/VoicePad/mobile_export.json. Use the actual location shown by your version if it differs.

Import on Windows

  1. Open Settings → Mobile Sync.
  2. Choose Import USB where available.
  3. Follow any prompts to locate or read the exported file.
  4. Open History and check the received notes.

Direction and limits

This workflow moves notes from Android to Windows. It does not send Windows notes back to Android, and it is not an iOS or macOS USB guide. Use supported local WiFi sync for a phone–computer workflow in both directions.

Some builds export only entries not already synced. Check the exported entry count and destination history instead of expecting a duplicate of every note.

If Windows cannot see the phone

Check that the phone is unlocked, MTP is selected and the cable supports data rather than charging only. If the controls are missing, check your app version and use the supported export or WiFi options.
