The first-launch wizard helps you prepare VoicePad for your first dictation. Its screens can vary by platform and version; the settings below explain what the choices do.
Choose the language you will speak. The documented dictation languages are English and German. VoicePad uses the selected language for recognition, so check it again when switching languages.
Allow recording when your operating system asks. Without microphone permission, VoicePad cannot capture your speech. You can change the permission later in the device’s system settings.
Base is the documented starting recommendation for mobile use. Smaller models use fewer resources; larger models can take longer and require more storage. Wait until the chosen model is ready before recording.
Choose Midnight Dark, Light or Arctic Frost where available. You can change your appearance preferences later. Desktop setup may also ask for a name to personalise the header.
If the wizard offers a shortcut, choose one that does not conflict with your other apps. Check the value displayed in your current build rather than relying on a default from an older guide.
Restarting setup lets you revisit these choices. Review the app’s prompt before resetting anything, then make a short test dictation when setup is complete.
