How do I share or email a transcript?

Choose copy and paste for a quick message, a mobile share action for another app, or the desktop Email control for a document export. Review the text and destination before sending.

Copy and paste on any supported platform

  1. Finish dictation and check the transcript.
  2. Copy the text using the app’s copy control.
  3. Open the destination app and paste into an editable field.
  4. Review the pasted text and formatting.

Share from mobile

Use the transcript’s Share action where offered. Choose the destination from the system share sheet and check what will be sent. A text share is different from exporting your whole history.

Email from desktop

  1. Place the text you want to share in the transcript area.
  2. Choose Email in the footer.
  3. Select an export format offered by your build, such as Word or PDF.
  4. Check the saved file and the draft opened by your mail app.
  5. Attach the file manually if it is not already attached, then review the recipient and send when ready.

Automatic attachment depends on the mail client. Some workflows open a draft and the file’s folder so you can add the attachment yourself. If a PDF export fails, try an available Word export or copy the reviewed text instead.

Share one note or keep a backup?

Use copy, share or document export for one transcript. Use Export History when you need a separate copy of multiple notes. Open the exported file to check it before deleting anything.

Where privacy changes

Dictation processing happens locally. Once you send text through email or another app, that destination’s data handling applies. Share only the information you intend to disclose.
