How do I bulk-delete history items (Clear Selected vs Clear All)?
Two ways to delete multiple history entries at once instead of one-by-one. **Windows v2.1.2+**.
**Clear Selected — delete a specific batch:**
1. Open **History** (tap ☰ in the footer)
2. Each history card has a **checkbox** in the top-left corner
3. Click the checkbox on each item you want to delete — selected items get a subtle highlight
4. A **Clear Selected (N)** button appears in the footer with the live count
5. Click **Clear Selected** → confirm in the dialog → items disappear
**Clear All — wipe everything:**
History sidebar → **Clear All** button at the bottom → confirms with count → confirmation dialog → everything deleted.
**When to use which:**
- **Clear Selected** = "I want to delete rough drafts from one project while keeping final versions." Surgical.
- **Clear All** = "I want to start fresh." Nuclear.
**Important — sync respects deletions:**
When you delete entries, **they stay deleted across all your synced devices**. If you delete an entry on Windows, the next WiFi sync removes it from Android too. Items won't reappear after mobile sync.
This is called **tombstone-based sync** — deleted items are recorded as "deletions" and propagated to other devices, not just locally removed.
**Mobile — single-item delete:**
On Android/iOS, swipe a history card **left** to delete a single entry. There's no multi-select on mobile yet — it's coming.
**Export before deleting (recommended):**
Before clearing history, export it first as backup:
- Windows: Settings → Sessions → Export History → saves as `.txt`
- Mobile: History sidebar → Export All
You can always re-import later if needed.
