What is VoicePad AI?

VoicePad AI turns spoken words into text using Whisper running on your own device. It is available for Windows, macOS, Android and iOS.

What you can use it for

• Capture notes while an idea is fresh.
• Draft emails, messages and longer documents.
• Record work details without typing every sentence.
• Find earlier dictations in your local history.
• Move supported history between a phone and computer over local WiFi.

Choose your writing workflow

Dictate inside VoicePad and copy the result, use the floating Orb where supported, or use VoicePad Direct to insert text into an editable field. The setup differs by platform, so choose the relevant guide.

Speech recognition and AI Tools

Whisper handles dictation. On supported desktop apps, a separate local Ollama model can clean, rewrite, summarise or translate your text. Dictation does not require Ollama.

Privacy

Speech recognition happens locally rather than through a cloud transcription service. Initial downloads, updates and license activation can still need internet. Optional local sync shares history with your other supported device.

Start with a short note

Complete setup, choose the language you will speak, allow the microphone and test one sentence. English and German are the documented supported dictation languages.
