What is the Custom Dictionary?

The Custom Dictionary helps correct recurring spelling mistakes in names, brands and specialist vocabulary. The current Help Center documents a dictionary editor on Windows.

Add a correction rule

  1. Dictate a short example and note the word or phrase that appears incorrectly.
  2. Open Settings → Tools → Custom Dictionary.
  3. Choose Add Entry.
  4. Enter the recognised form and the replacement you want.
  5. Save, then dictate the example again and check the result.

Choose specific entries

A rule such as cubernetes → Kubernetes is useful when that is a recurring error. A broad rule for a common word can change text that was already correct.

  • Start with a few names or terms you use often.
  • Test each addition in more than one sentence.
  • Remove rules that create unwanted replacements.
  • Keep a backup before making many changes.

Corrections are not model training

A replacement dictionary adjusts recognised text. It does not mean the underlying speech model has been retrained on your voice. Check each result, especially when a term can have several meanings.

Other platforms and import

The desktop editor does not establish that dictionary import or selection-based additions are already available everywhere. Check your build’s settings and the roadmap for those workflows.

Learning System

The planned Learning System is intended to make corrections easier to collect. It is described separately as a feature in development.
