What is SubPad meeting transcription?

SubPad is VoicePad’s planned meeting transcription mode. The Help Center currently labels it as coming soon. Treat the features below as the intended workflow, rather than instructions for a released feature.

What SubPad is intended to do

  • Capture a longer conversation continuously.
  • Separate the transcript into speaker-labelled segments.
  • Use microphone audio for an in-person meeting or system audio for a call, where supported.
  • Save a structured meeting transcript locally.

The goal is to make it easier to review who said what without sending meeting audio to a cloud transcription service.

Planned export options

  • TXT: readable meeting notes.
  • SRT: subtitles for editing or playback tools.
  • VTT: subtitles for compatible web players.
  • JSON: structured transcript data for other workflows.

Speaker identification, supported audio sources and export behavior will need to be confirmed in the release documentation.

What you can use today

Use ordinary dictation for your own notes. On documented desktop builds, you can import a supported audio recording and review its transcript. Do not assume that ordinary dictation already provides SubPad’s speaker labels.

Follow progress

Check the VoicePad roadmap for development status and the changelog for released functionality. A roadmap entry is not a confirmed release date.
