Environment Mode adjusts speech processing for the conditions around your microphone. Use Indoor for quieter spaces and try Outdoor when background noise competes with your voice.
Indoor is the documented default. Start here in an office, home or quiet room. It uses the standard detection settings and prioritises responsive processing.
Outdoor uses stronger noise filtering and a more extensive decoding search. Try it near traffic, machinery or other background sound. Processing may take longer.
A mode change cannot guarantee clear transcription when wind hits the microphone or another voice is much louder than yours. Move closer to the microphone, shelter it from wind or find a quieter position where possible.
Stronger noise filtering may also miss quiet speech. Compare Indoor again and check the mic sensitivity control. Make one change at a time so you can tell what helped.
Look for the Environment setting in your installed build. If it is not offered, use the recording and microphone controls available on that platform.
