Development update — iPhone: recording bar, interface and dictation improvements

iPhone test builds improve recording controls, editing, interruption handling and language behavior.

Recording and interruptions

  • Clearer microphone handoffs between the recording bar and VoicePad Direct, with larger-text support and screen-reader state announcements.
  • Brief notices appear above the recording bar.
  • Calls, Siri and other apps taking the microphone end dictation through the normal stop process.
  • Audio recovery survives changes to the app's storage location, and temporary dictation audio is cleaned up after a session.
  • Opening VoicePad leaves existing music playing.

Editing, history and language

  • Reader and History have clearer layouts, accessible editing, failed-save messages, and clearer playback and audio-clearing results.
  • Repairs cover Direct history saving, Pro controls and speech-model handling.
  • The saved app language applies at launch, and language changes reach the interface immediately.
  • Text processing is applied consistently throughout dictation, including the final segment and keyboard dictation. Additional native translations still need review.

Availability

Development update — September–October 2026. These changes are integrated in test builds. Final checks and the matching public release versions and dates are still being verified; availability depends on the build.
