Development update — Android: personal custom dictionary

The Android v3 release candidate includes a personal dictionary for names, specialist vocabulary and phrases that need a consistent correction.

Add and manage corrections

  • Select text in Reader or on the finished dictation card to add a personal correction. Copy, Share and Save use your edited text.
  • Manage entries in Settings, import and export dictionaries, and generate likely mishearings locally for correcting later dictations.
  • Confirm corrections involving short or common words. Learning preserves sentence boundaries and the note's language.

Optional learning and easier editing

  • Learning from corrections is off by default. Each learned pair gets its own notice and can be undone.
  • Reset the list of declined suggestions when you want to review them again.
  • The finished card stays usable while editing, and the dictionary action remains above the Android keyboard.
  • Duration and word count remain readable at larger text sizes.

How it works: personal corrections apply after transcription. They do not retrain the speech model.
